On July 14, 2004 the Association of Journalists of Macedonia presented “Krste Misirkov” award for long-standing work in journalism, as well as the annual radio, TV and printed media awards for 2003.

TRIBUNE

The Association of Journalists of Macedonia, within the project “Pages of Mutual Understanding”, organized a tribune on the following topic:

“Differences in journalists’ reporting regarding the presidential elections”

Key note speakers were Saso Ordanovski from “Forum” and Daut Dauti, from “Flaka”, while Robert Popovski from AJM will be moderator of the tribune.

AJM carries out the program “Pages of Mutual Understanding.” in cooperation with the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC), the Macedonian Information Agency (MIA), Dnevnik, Utrinski vesnik, Fakti, Lobi and Vecer.

MEDIA RELEASE
The threats and humiliation of journalists continue. Minister of Justice, Mr. Ixhet Memeti, tries to bring innovation in journalist expression. The latest innovation of Memeti is the request for authorization of his own statement! This is certainly an enormous, negative contribution for freedom of media and journalism and let’s not forget that the Association of Journalists of Macedonia reminded on May 3, World Press Freedom Day, that the journalist’s quill in Macedonia is not free – someone constantly tries to put it behind the bars!

MEDIA RELEASE
The Association of Journalists of Macedonia seriously warns the actors in the game of prosecuting the journalists. It is more than obvious that the journalists in Macedonia are “targeted”. The pursuit continues and is intensified. AJM will not stop on issuing media releases, when it is already obvious that this type of communication is not fruitful and the cases in which the power of the fourth estate has been taken away by the court multiply on a daily basis.
